Eaton and Lovato 3 pole disconnect switches from 25 to 100 AMP
Disconnect switches come in many different mounting options with numerous different options and accessories for any application. From red/yellow padlockable main disconnect handles to standard black on/off rotary types and side mounted auxiliaries, neutral and fourth poles, the versatility of these switches can accommodate any application.
The most important aspects in choosing which disconnect switch is appropriate for your application is to determine the AMP size and mounting style. For the mounting styles, there are three main options:
- Door mounted - The disconnect switch body is mounted to the back of the door with a through the door operator. So when the panel door is opened, the switch body remains connected to the door.
- Panel mounted - In this case the switch is mounted to the back panel and has a shaft extending through the door to the handle on the face of the cabinet. This allows for a lockout so that while the switch in is in the on position, the door cannot be opened
- Surface mount enclosure - For a complete disconnect solution, these switches can be provided in their own enclosure, usually with IP65 wash down protection, and can be mounted externally from a panel.
