Product Description
Schneider Electric LC1D09 TeSys Deca Contactor — 9A, 3-Pole
The Schneider Electric LC1D09 is a 9A, 3-pole IEC contactor from the TeSys Deca series (formerly known as TeSys D). Rated 9A AC-3 and 25A AC-1 in a compact 45mm frame, it is designed for reliable motor switching in HVAC systems, pumping applications, conveyors, and industrial and commercial automation panels. The LC1D09 includes built-in 1 N.O. and 1 N.C. auxiliary contacts as standard — additional LADN front-mount and LAD8N side-mount contact blocks can be field-added without tools for applications requiring more switching outputs.

Product Features
- Built-In 1 N.O. + 1 N.C. Auxiliary Contacts: Standard on all LC1D09 variants — no additional block required for basic signalling and interlocking. Additional LADN front-mount blocks (2, 3, or 4 contact configurations) and LAD8N side-mount blocks snap on without tools. Select from the auxiliary contacts dropdown above.
- IP20 Finger-Safe Terminals: Touch-safe screw clamp terminals protect against accidental contact during wiring and maintenance. Multi-standard head accepts flat, Phillips, and Pozidriv screwdrivers. Wire range 1–4 mm² (AWG 10–18, CU 75°C). Tightening torque 1.7 N·m / 15 lb-in.
- Compact 45mm Frame: Identical footprint to LC1D12, LC1D18, LC1D25, and LC1D32, allowing high-density installation and full accessory interchangeability across the TeSys Deca D09–D38 family.
- Direct-Mount Overload Relay: Pairs directly with Schneider Electric LRD series bimetallic overload relays (LRD01–LRD14 for direct mounting to the LC1D09). Match the LRD range to your motor’s full-load amps — for example, LRD10 (4–6A) or LRD14 (7–10A) are the correct selections for most 9A applications. Select from the overload relay dropdown above.
- High Mechanical Endurance: Designed for millions of switching cycles. Suitable for heavy-duty motor control in HVAC, pumping, conveying, and industrial automation.
- UL60335 Plastics: TeSys Deca uses updated UL60335-compliant plastics with greater endurance in the presence of heat or fire, compared to the earlier TeSys D series.
- Global Certifications: UL, CSA, IEC, CE, and CCC compliant for domestic and international panel builds.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does LC1D09 mean?
The part number follows Schneider Electric’s TeSys Deca naming convention: LC1 = IEC contactor, D = TeSys Deca (formerly TeSys D) frame, 09 = 9A AC-3 current rating. The suffix identifies the coil voltage — for example, LC1D09G7 is the 120V AC version and LC1D09BD is the 24V DC version. Select your coil voltage from the dropdown above.
What is the difference between the LC1D09F7 and LC1D09G7?
They are the same contactor — only the coil voltage differs. LC1D09F7 has a 110V 50/60Hz coil and LC1D09G7 has a 120V 60Hz coil. The main contacts, current rating (9A AC-3), horsepower ratings, and physical dimensions are identical across all LC1D09 coil variants. Choose the suffix that matches your control circuit voltage.
Does the LC1D09 come with built-in auxiliary contacts?
Yes — all LC1D09 variants include 1 N.O. + 1 N.C. auxiliary contacts as standard. These are integrated into the contactor body and available for signalling and interlocking without any additional accessory. If your application requires more contacts, LADN front-mount blocks (2- and 4-contact configurations) and LAD8N side-mount blocks snap on without tools. Select the configuration you need from the auxiliary contacts dropdown above.
What overload relay pairs with the LC1D09?
The Schneider Electric LRD series bimetallic overload relays direct-mount beneath the LC1D09. The compatible range for the D09 frame is LRD01 through LRD14 (covering 0.10–10A). For most 9A motor applications, select the LRD10 (4–6A) or LRD14 (7–10A) based on your motor’s nameplate full-load amps (FLA). Note that LRD16 and above (9–13A and larger) require a minimum of the LC1D12 or larger frame and will not direct-mount to the LC1D09. For electronic overload protection, the LR9D series (LR9D01, 0.1–0.5A through LR9D08, 1.6–8A) is also directly compatible with the D09 frame.
What is the difference between TeSys D and TeSys Deca?
TeSys Deca is Schneider Electric’s current commercial name for the product line formerly sold as TeSys D. Part numbers are unchanged — the LC1D09 you order today is the same part as LC1D09 units in TeSys D documentation. The Deca update introduced UL60335-compliant plastics with greater heat and fire endurance, and multi-standard screw terminals compatible with flat, Phillips, and Pozidriv screwdrivers.
Can the LC1D09 be used for hermetic refrigeration compressor applications?
Yes — the LC1D09 (AC coil versions only) carries a definite purpose rating for hermetic refrigeration compressor switching: FLA 9A, with locked-rotor ampere (LRA) ratings of 54A at 240V, 45A at 480V, and 36A at 600V, for 3-phase breaking of all lines at 100,000 cycles. This makes it suitable for compressor contactor applications in commercial refrigeration and light commercial HVAC. Note that the DC coil version (LC1D09BD) does not carry this rating.
What is the LC1D09 a replacement for?
The LC1D09 is the current Schneider Electric replacement for older Telemecanique LC1D09 units and is cross-compatible with existing TeSys D panel assemblies. It is also a functional equivalent to other 9A IEC contactors including the Siemens 3RT2016, Eaton XTCE009, and WEG CWM9 — though mounting footprint and terminal position may vary between manufacturers. Call us at 1-800-222-5129 to confirm compatibility before ordering for a field replacement.
Is the LC1D09 in stock for same-day shipping?
Stock status is shown on this page. When in stock, orders placed before 4:00 PM EST ship the same business day from Kent Electrical Supply’s warehouse in Emmaus, PA. Individual coil voltage variants (LC1D09G7, LC1D09P7, LC1D09F7 etc.) are listed as separate SKUs and may carry independent stock — check the recommended products section or call us at 1-800-222-5129 if your specific coil voltage shows as unavailable.
