LC1D80 vs. LC1D80A — Screw Terminals vs. EverLink
The LC1D80 family includes two distinct terminal configurations. Choosing the wrong one means getting a lower HP rating than your application requires.
| Feature | LC1D80 (standard, this page) | LC1D80A (EverLink variant) |
|---|---|---|
| Power Terminals | Standard screw clamp | EverLink BTR screw connectors |
| HP @ 480V | 60 HP | 40 HP |
| AC-3 @ 440V | 80A | 66A |
| Frame Width | 85mm | 55mm |
| Aux Contacts | 1 NO + 1 NC | 1 NO + 1 NC |
Important: Schneider Electric's own documentation states the LC1D80A only partially replaces the LC1D80. If your application requires the full 60 HP at 480V / 80A AC-3 rating, order the standard LC1D80 (this page) with screw clamp terminals. The LC1D80A with EverLink terminals is rated only 40 HP at 480V / 66A AC-3 and is physically narrower (55mm vs. 85mm). These are not interchangeable in existing panel cutouts.
HP Ratings by Voltage

| 230–240V AC | 30 HP | Three-phase |
| 480V AC | 60 HP | Three-phase |
| 600V AC | 60 HP | Three-phase |

Product Features
- 60 HP at 480V — Full 80A AC-3 Rating: The LC1D80 is rated for 60 HP at 480V three-phase (80A AC-3 / 125A AC-1), making it suitable for large motor starters in pumps, compressors, HVAC chillers, conveyors, and industrial process equipment. This is the full-rated standard screw-clamp variant — not to be confused with the LC1D80A (EverLink terminal variant) which is rated only 40 HP at 480V / 66A AC-3.
- 1 NO + 1 NC Built-In Auxiliary Contacts: The LC1D80 includes one normally open and one normally closed auxiliary contact as standard. The NC mirror contact is IEC certified for safety circuits. Additional LADN front-mount or top-mount auxiliary contact blocks can be added for up to 6 total auxiliary contacts for expanded interlocking, signaling, and PLC wiring requirements.
- 85mm Frame — Wider Than LC1D09–LC1D65: The LC1D80 uses an 85mm wide frame, compared to the 45mm and 55mm frames of smaller TeSys D contactors. Panel builders replacing an LC1D65 or smaller with an LC1D80 must account for the increased width in panel layout. DIN rail and panel screw mounting are both supported.
- Screw Clamp Power Terminals: The LC1D80 uses standard screw clamp connections on the power circuit. Wire range: 4–50mm² flexible without cable end (single), 4–25mm² flexible without cable end (double). Control circuit uses screw clamp terminals. If EverLink BTR spring terminals are required, note that the LC1D80A variant carries a reduced 66A AC-3 / 40 HP @ 480V rating and has a different (smaller) frame width.
- LRD3 and LR9D Overload Relay Compatible: The LC1D80 pairs with Schneider Electric LRD3 series thermal overload relays and LR9D series electronic overload relays for complete motor starter assemblies. The overload mounts directly to the T1-T2-T3 load terminals without additional wiring. Select the LRD3 current range based on your motor’s full-load amperage.
- 100 kA SCCR: When used with a coordinated 480V circuit breaker (up to 150A) or a 600V Class J or CC fuse (up to 175A), the LC1D80 achieves 100 kA SCCR — suitable for high-fault-current industrial environments.
- TeSys D / TeSys Deca Family: The LC1D80 is part of Schneider Electric’s TeSys D series, the predecessor to the current TeSys Deca line. TeSys D contactors remain in production and share accessories with TeSys Deca at this frame size. Also known as the Square D LC1D80 and Telemecanique LC1D80.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the HP rating of the LC1D80?
The LC1D80 is rated 60 HP at 480V three-phase (80A AC-3). It is also rated 60 HP at 600V, 30 HP at 230V, and 25 HP at 200–208V. For single-phase applications: 7.5 HP at 115V and 15 HP at 230V. Note: the LC1D80A (EverLink terminal variant) is only rated 40 HP at 480V — make sure you are ordering the standard LC1D80 if your application requires 60 HP.
What is the difference between the LC1D80 and the LC1D80A?
These are two distinct products, not just a terminal option on the same contactor. The LC1D80 (standard, this page) uses screw clamp power terminals, is 85mm wide, and is rated 60 HP at 480V / 80A AC-3. The LC1D80A (TeSys Deca EverLink variant) uses EverLink BTR spring-loaded power terminals, is 55mm wide, and is rated only 40 HP at 480V / 66A AC-3. Schneider Electric's own documentation states the LC1D80A only partially replaces the LC1D80. They are not physically interchangeable in existing panel cutouts due to the different frame widths. Choose based on your required HP rating and panel space.
What overload relay pairs with the LC1D80?
The LC1D80 is compatible with Schneider Electric LRD3 series thermal overload relays (Class 10 and Class 20) and LR9D series electronic overload relays. Both series mount directly to the T1-T2-T3 load terminals of the LC1D80. Select the LRD3 current range based on your motor’s nameplate full-load amperage. Call Kent Electrical Supply at 1-800-222-5129 for overload selection assistance.
Is the LC1D80 the same as the Square D LC1D80 or Telemecanique LC1D80?
Yes — Schneider Electric, Square D, and Telemecanique all refer to the same product. Schneider Electric acquired Telemecanique in 1988 and Square D in 1991. The LC1D contactor line originated under the Telemecanique brand and was subsequently marketed as Square D in North America. The catalog number LC1D80 is identical across all three brand references.
How many auxiliary contacts can be added to the LC1D80?
The LC1D80 ships with 1 NO + 1 NC built-in. Additional LADN series front-mount or top-mount auxiliary contact blocks can be added for up to 6 total auxiliary contacts. Standard LADN blocks provide 2-pole or 4-pole auxiliary configurations in NO, NC, or mixed arrangements. This allows expanded interlocking, feedback, and PLC signaling without requiring a separate relay.
Does the LC1D80 qualify for same-day shipping?
Yes — stocked LC1D80 coil variants ship same business day from Kent Electrical Supply’s warehouse in Emmaus, PA when ordered before 4:00 PM EST. Check individual variant pages for current stock. For bulk orders, LRD overload relays, or LADN auxiliary contact blocks, call us at 1-800-222-5129 or text your RFQ to 484-425-0652.
