Product Features
- Authorized GE CL04A310T Replacement: WEG officially established the CWM32 as the replacement for the discontinued GE CL04A310T contactor family. The CWM32 matches the GE CL04 in mounting footprint, terminal spacing, and overload relay interface. Existing GE CL04 accessories and overload relays are compatible with the CWM32.
- Two Auxiliary Contact Configurations: The CWM32 is available in two base configurations: CWM32-00 (no auxiliary contacts) for maximum flexibility in specifying your own aux blocks, and CWM32-10 which includes one pre-installed BCXMF10 (1 NO) front-mounted auxiliary contact block. Up to 4 total front-mounted BCXMF blocks can be added to either variant.
- Direct-Mount Overload Relay (RW27-1D3): The WEG RW27-1D3 series thermal overload relay mounts directly to the CWM32 load-side terminals for complete motor protection. Available in ranges from 0.28A to 50A — covering the full FLA range of motors paired with a 32A contactor at typical voltages.
- 277V Coil Variant Available: The CWM32 is one of the few contactors in this current range available with a 277V AC coil (V37 variant), making it ideal for single-phase 277V control circuits common in US commercial lighting and HVAC applications. This variant replaces the GE CL04A310M.
- Wide Overload Relay Range: The RW27-1D3 series covers 0.28A to 50A for the CWM32 frame — a significantly wider range than the CWM9 (to 12.5A) or CWM18 (to 23A), accommodating the broader motor FLA range that a 32A contactor serves.
- DIN Rail or Panel Screw Mount: Mounts on standard 35mm DIN rail or directly to a panel backplate. IP20 finger-safe control circuit terminals standard.
- Global Certifications: UL 508 Listed, CSA Certified, IEC 60947-4-1 compliant, CE marked.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the WEG CWM32 a direct replacement for the GE CL04A310T?
Yes — the WEG CWM32 is the officially authorized replacement for the entire GE CL04A310T contactor family. The CWM32 matches the GE CL04 in mounting footprint, terminal spacing, and accessory interface. Select the correct coil voltage variant from the tables above. Existing GE CL04 accessories remain compatible with the CWM32.
What is the difference between CWM32-00 and CWM32-10?
Both are 32A, 3-pole CWM series contactors with the same electrical ratings. The difference is the pre-installed auxiliary contact: CWM32-00 ships with no auxiliary contact (add your own BCXMF blocks as needed), while CWM32-10 comes with one pre-installed BCXMF10 (1 NO) front-mounted auxiliary contact block. If your application needs exactly 1 NO contact for interlocking or feedback, the CWM32-10 saves a separate order. If you need a different combination (1 NC, 1 NO/1 NC, etc.), start with CWM32-00 and add the required BCXMF blocks.
What do the GE CL04A310T coil suffix codes mean?
The suffix at the end of the GE CL04A310T catalog number identifies the coil voltage: MJ = 120V AC, M7 = 208–240V AC, M = 277V AC, MU = 480V AC, M1 = 24V AC. Match your GE suffix to the corresponding WEG variant: MJ → CWM32-00-30V18, M7 → CWM32-00-30V24, M → CWM32-00-30V37, MU → CWM32-00-30V47, M1 → CWM32-00-30V04.
Which overload relay is compatible with the CWM32?
The WEG RW27-1D3 series thermal overload relay mounts directly to the bottom load-side terminals of the CWM32. For the CWM32, overload current ranges from 0.28A to 50A are available. Select the range covering your motor’s nameplate full-load amperage. Call us at 1-800-222-5129 for help selecting the correct range.
Why does the CWM32 have a 277V coil option when the CWM9 and CWM18 don't?
The 277V coil (V37 variant) is included in the CWM32 range because GE offered it in the CL04 series for commercial lighting and HVAC control circuits wired at 277V AC (a common single-phase voltage in US commercial buildings derived from 480Y/277V three-phase service). The WEG CWM32-00-30V37 is the direct replacement for the GE CL04A310M (277V). The smaller CWM9 and CWM18 frames do not include this coil voltage option in the standard lineup.
Is the CWM32 in stock for same-day shipping?
Yes — common CWM32 variants are stocked at Kent Electrical Supply’s warehouse in Emmaus, PA. Orders placed before 4:00 PM EST ship the same business day. Current stock quantities are shown on each individual variant page. For bulk orders or less common coil voltages, call us at 1-800-222-5129 or text your RFQ to 484-425-0652.
