Product Description
Siemens 3RV1031-4AA10 motor starter/manual motor protector with an adjustable AMP range from 11 to 16 AMPS, a rotary ON/OFF handle and class 10 overload trip characteristics (trips in 10 seconds or less). This Sirius 3RV1031 motor protector has magnetic trip elements for short circuit protection, screw terminals and mounts on standard 35MM DIN rail for easy installation and removal. Optional 3RV1901 2 pole auxiliary contacts, in front or side mount, can be added for motor disconnection during a motor over amperage condition or for signalling via a pilot device.
The Siemens series of 3RV1031 manual motor protectors are used in a wide variety of applications, from pump panels, mass production lines and certain HVAC installations. The bimetallic heating elements in this starter provide over-current protection for both AC and DC motors up to the selected AMP range, in this case up to 25 AMPS. The unique feature to this Siemens motor protector is the fourth bimetallic strip, which prevents unnecessary tripping when the temperature of the enclosed panel exceeds the temperature of the motor, saving time and the hassle of restarting the motor. Most important is the phase loss protection as, due to a differential trip bar, trips faster preventing costly damage to the motor that it is protecting when a motor loses its phase.
When combined with an appropriate sized 3RT1 contactor, the 3RV1031-4AA10 forms a combination motor controller for complete motor protection.
