Product Description
Eaton XTOE045DCS electronic overload relay that is adjustable from 9 to 45 AMPS and mounts to any frame D contactor from 40 to 65 AMPS. This next generation solid state overload relay provides accurate and reliable motor protection with multiple class selections (10, 20, 30) in a compact frame size. Phase loss protection, two auxiliary contacts and a test/trip button are just a few of the options available for the XTOE045DCS which make it the most versatile electronic overload manufactured today. If a higher AMP range is needed, the XTOE100DCS adjusts from 20 to 100 AMPS and directly mounts to all the same contactors.

There are three main types of overload conditions, thermal overload, unbalanced phases and phase loss, which cause damage and potentially could pose a safety risk when protecting a motor or system. The most common is the thermal overload and in this state the current draw surpasses 115% of the FLA (full load AMPS) rating for the inductive motor. This condition can quickly damage the motor and cause system failure which is why Eaton XTOE045DCS overload protection is needed. The second most common is a phase unbalance and in this condition there is uneven voltage or current in all phases within a 3 phase system. Often due to poor line quality, this condition loads the remaining phases with too much current often causing contacts to burn up. The last instance of overload conditions is complete phase loss, where a system loses a phase and the remaining AMPS are run through either two or one of the remaining poles. And without overload protection, this will not damage the contactor, it more than likely will damage the motor being protected causing significant costs both financially and in down time.
