    Q: How do I size a 3-pole contactor for a 10 HP motor?
    A: Check the motor’s FLA rating and select a contactor with an AC-3 rating equal to or greater than that value. For example, a typical 10 HP motor at 460V draws around 14A, so a 3-pole contactor rated 18A+ is appropriate.
